This is a fine example of a CURIO where the wood carver carved two lotus pods with movable seeds and interlocking rings from a single block of wood. Wood is not known for sure. Chinese wood carvers liked to use Huangyangmu because of its yellow color. The age of this is the Chinese Republican Period, 1920’s.. extended it us 3.5 inches.
The verticulated wood stand in a floral motif is made together with the lotus pod carving but it goes well with it. It is an old stand, 3 inches x 3 inches x 1 inch high.
