This is an attractive Red lacquer box with attention to details. The handle on the top of the box is carved with confronting dragon heads. The front panel is removable and it holds the drawers in place while the box travels. The drawers are of differing sizes and they are all deep. The front panel that is removable is well carved and is made to resemble a stage with actors enacting a popular scene from a famous play. The purpose of this box is to hold scholar objects such as ink and brushes, colors, and seals.
