Chinese minority embroidery has a distinctive style all its own. This is a very general statement, for the reason that there are many minority groups that live in in Southwest China, in the provinces of Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan. Young women used to learn to embroidery from their mothers and grandmothers and the items were actual objects they could use, like a baby carrier. This object is a collection of embroidered pieces, that someone has put together sometime ago.
