This beautiful and mysterious stone snuff bottle may not be a black jasper or is it a snowflake obsidian? My stone identifier keeps giving me different identifications. Nevertheless, it is a bottle of significant size and appearance. The flattened rectangular body that slightly tapers to a raised oval foot has the most intriguing purple streaks that are fused to the black stone. The sloping rounded shoulders extends upwards towards a straight round neck with a flat top and a small opening for the spoon. The snuff bottle cap is a grey/green agate with a cork stopper and bone spoon.
