The double gourd shape snuff bottle is made of Opaline or milk glass and painted with an imperial yellow glass and design of a cricket on both sides. On the base is a 3 character Guyuexuan mark. Guyuexuan was the name of a studio belonging to a Manchu Prince who had very good taste and a wide range of interest. Many antique objects in glass, porcelain, painting etc bore the Guyuexuan mark. The artist who painted this double gourd bottle is paying respect to the fine works of art from this studio he decided to put the mark there.
