Pink Rhodonite is a manganese inosilicate. It often has black manganese oxide veins running through. The stone carver tried to make the best use of the pink color and only allowed the manganese veins to crisscross the bottom section giving much more room to feature the flower-like formations with the occasional black spots. The best rhodonites are found in the Ural Mountains in Russia, but British Columbia yields similar quality stones. Rhodonite is also found in the US.

This Pink Rhodonite snuff bottle has a flattened globular shape that slightly tapers towards the bottom, ending in a concave oval foot. The sloping shoulders has a straight neck with a concave top. It is paired with a light green serpentine cap.

Dimensions: 1.5 inches wide x 0.5 inches deep x 2.75 inches high

Dating: post 1970's

Condition: Nothing that has age is perfect but there are no visible flaws.  It is made after 1970 and is not well hollowed out.  Collectors are collecting for the rare pink color and also for the rare pink stone.
