This is a handmade pottery jarlet from the Qijia Culture ????, a bronze age culture (2050 -1700 BCE) in the upper region of Yellow River in Gansu Province, Northwest China. The little jarlet was made as a funerary object, The clay body is thin, but solidly made. Evidence on the bottom of the pot shows the pot was removed with a sharp thin object like a taunt string or whatever that was used by early potters. 6 inches in diameter and 5 inches high.
