What makes a stone snuff bottle special is the fact that seldom are two alike, just as there are no identical stones that exist in nature. The parallel black and gray lines in wide and narrow bands are due to the iron deposits in the stone. The larger jasper snuff bottle is of a flattened square form tapering towards the base and ending in a raised oval foot. A straight neck sits on the slightly sloping shoulders. The top is slightly concave. It is matched with a jade green glass cap with a cork stopper.
