The snuff bottle is of a flattened oviod form tapering in the bottom to a recessed short oval shape raised foot. The straight neck ends in a flat top. The inside paintings on both sides feature a seated lady in a garden seating. Both ladies have long faces and high chignons and long hair tied into a long braid. The painting style harks back to Qing Dynasty style of painting . The serpentine cap is original and the stopper is cork. A CHINA mark was scratched on the base, it is very faint. It can be surmised that these bottles were exported to US for sale at the World Expositions, and the country of origin had to be shown on the object. That would place the date before the 1920's. Few clear blue glass snuff bottles are made today, thus eliminating the idea that this bottle is new.
