A decade after the fall of the Qing Dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China, there was a resurgence of Chinese art. China again joined the world trade which resulted in an impetus of art production, which included the making of snuff bottles.  Old Master Craftsmen who had worked in the Imperial Workshop were encouraged to come out of retirement to open shops to produce snuff bottles as well as to train apprentices in their craft.  As a result, there were many beautiful glass bottles from the 1920's and 1930's period.

The vintage clear glass bottle has an unusual shape of being blown and formed in six segments.  The red overlay was cut out in all but the edges.  When held to the light, the bottle is a beautiful illumination. It is a well made, including the round foot that shows the evidence of being hand blown.  It is matched with a vermeil filigree cap topped with a tiny turquoise bead and the stopper is made of cork and a gold tone spoon.
