This is an unique black agate bottle. The carver was very ingenious to select a rock in the right proportions to be a snuff bottle and carved it making use of the parallel bands of white to be positioned at both sides. The end result is the white bands appeared to be "eyes." In my years of collecting, it is the only one of its kind. I find it to be very special. The bottle is small and it feels good to hold in my hands. It is of a flattened globular shape with a small raised oval foot which is nicely done. The opening is quite large for its size. It is still a vintage bottle made after 1970's, but it would be dated in the late 1970's to early 1980's. It has a bespoke or custom made stopper to enhance its appearance, a dome shape red jasper top on a beige collar.
