The pretty snuff bottle has an elegant appearance in its flattened globular form ending in a short raised oval foot. The top is slightly concave. Its attractive appearance is due to the nature of agate, which is a banded form of finely-grained, microcrystalline quartz. This bottle is unique because of the lovely brown areas blanding with the clear crystalline, especially the jagged area on the right bottom. It is matched with a similar color banded agate cover that was customed made for it. It makes a snapping noise when the cap is closed. The bottle is well hollowed, but not quite a floater. It is 2 inches wide, 1 inch deep and 3 inches high. This bottle is made in the 20 century and it appears to be specially made for a collector.
The dish that accompanies this bottle has a rugged light brown rim surrounding its crystalline body that is very transparent. It is newly made but it is well matched with the bottle. The diameter is 2.75 inches and 0.5 inches high.
Both objects are in good condition.
